78rpm - MP3 ISTD design brief

Asked by ISTD to display popular song lyrics from the 20th Century using primarily typography, I designed a poster that joint the subject matter in an innovate approach that was suitable to both songs. The two songs chosen were about drug addiction, however one song was written with alot of metaphors and the other was alot my literal about the effects of having a drug addiction.

Cabot Circus Publication

One of three publications aimed at highlighting the publics opinion of certain changes and development's to Bristol's urban environment.

18 Developments Poster

Printed on an A1 off white 156 gsm sheet of paper. The poster is about the councils 18 major proposed developments of the Bristol and how 13 of the 18 proposed changes are not what the Bristol public want, this result came from a research questionnaire filled in by 100 of the Bristol general public. As the text in the poster is all directed taken from the councils website, the idea of the lines is to cover up the irrelevant information and enlarge the facts that majority of the developments are not wanted by the public.

Welcome to Bristol Poster

A1 poster printed on Pure white Zen 136 gsm paper. This posters reflects my perception of growing up in Bristol and that it always seemed to rain on visit's to the centre, some man once said to me that it rains 183 days a year on average in Bristol.

Plane Unfair Publication

This publication, was very similar to the Cabot Circus publication, in the fact that I questioned alot of nearby residents about the proposal of planning permission for the expansion of the Bristol airport runway, the publication designed to portray the publics perception of the development and the causes and concerns of the expansion to the Bristol City Council, so that they become more aware of the general perception.

Bristol Transport System - Information graphics

This is a piece designed in my third year of my degree and related to my self directed study on 'Perceptions of the bristol Public'. This piece was designed from a questionnaire I created aimed at the Bristol Public and was based on their perception of the Bristol transport system and the graphic is relayed simply to show the results taken from the questionnaire.

'Do You Really Listen'

A set of posters printed on recycled brown 56gsm paper, aimed at the Bristol City Councils terrible efforts of asking the Bristol public their ideas for the future of Bristol and plainly ignoring their suggestions. Posters were put up throughout the Bristol centre, expressing to the public their ideas and how they were clearly detracted by the council.
